Any one that knows me from the DVD Boards already knows how I feel about NERO, for those who do not. I do not like NERO as a burning application. I think it is basic at best and as full of bugs as Windows ME, having that off my chest. I do think it does a VERY good job at two things, DVD inserts and audio .wav file mixing. I guess I will also add I like the mp3Pro compression (with the extra plug in) for .mp3Pro. Well here we go. Open NERO, I use 5.5.10.28 although all the later versions will do this I think and all have bugs that I have tried. As seen in the following screens it is pretty simple and I can only show the settings on my printer, you will have to set your as needed. These printer settings are all pretty similar. I use a Epson Stylus 740C and also print to a Network HP 930 sometimes with no trouble at all. I have heard of a lot of reports of people having trouble printing inserts that were large enough to fill the Supercase. I also fought this problem for some time with different apps and since I started using this program in this way the inserts come out perfect. I swear you could not tell the difference from the originals, if you are still having a problem it must be in your printer margin settings somewhere, trying to stop you from printing out of normal margin area.
I am using standard letter size Glossy Photo paper from Costco in 120 packs 19.99 and the Supercase from http://www.shop4tech.com @0.35/100 or 0.20/500.They seem to hold up very well with a total cost, minus ink, is about 0.40 cents US per case and insert.
NOTE: If anyone is interested I am using a Epson Stylus 740C and also get the ink from http://www.shop4tech.com for 3.99 for black and 5.99 for color cartridges and free shipping most of the time. This ink works just as good as the 25.00+ stuff from Office Depot or where you have been getting ripped of from. I was paying 10X as much for ink until I started getting it from them, and this can rack up some ink fast.
Open NERO COVER DESIGNER and choose DVD case from the
New document sub window.
Choose the insert tab at the bottom of work area.
In the drop down choose Data Becker (0435) A4 paper stock template. If you do not have this option the next few screen shots will show you how to add a template to NERO. If you do have the proper paper stock template move on.
To add Data Becker (0435) A4 paper stock template or any other [assuming they are installed as option]. Go to File and Paper stock. **If not an option see above information. I have made the files available for install in newer versions. Follow the instructions on DVD insert Template page linked above.
A new window will open, choose Data Becker (0435) A4 plus sign and DVD Case Insert. Choose OK and the paper stock template should now be available from drop down menu now.
Here there are numerous ways to add an image, I will show one. Choose the icon on the left panel that looks like a camera.
Browse for the image file you made or obtained earlier. Double click file.
When you double click the file you will automatically be taken back to NERO project. A outline representing the image will be with your mouse pointer as a box with a small camera in the middle. Drag the image where you would like and click again the image will show up in the project window now. At this point it is just a matter of using the corners of the image and dragging it to fill the project guidelines.
